Features of Svalbard4XPlane

Svalbard4XPlane is a quite realistic representation of Svalbard for the flight simulator X-Plane 11. The Norwegian archipelago is located in the Arctic Ocean north of the Polar circle between 74. and 81. latitude and is not covered by the X-Plane default installation. So the scenery package Svalbard4XPlane does not only fill a gap in the X-Plane world, but also includes detailed airports and helipads.

The key features of the Svalbard4XPlane Mesh are: Coverage of the complete Svalbard archipelago with an area of about 61.000 square kilometers. High resolution terrain model and detailed outlines like coastlines, glaciers and so on. Where required, manually modeled terrain details e.g. around airports. Generic, but photorealistic texturing for a summer and a winter-representation of the landscape.

These are just the key features of the mesh, developed by Maps2XPlane. More information about the airports and helipads, developed by my partner Stairport Sceneries, will be published soon.

News about Svalbard4XPlane!

Exciting news, I make a good progress with the development of my Svalbard Mesh for X-Plane. Besides the summer version, which I presented a few weeks ago, the development of the winter version is also almost finished:

There are just a few details to add and the internal beta phase can begin. I’ll keep you up to date and I’ll publish the key features of Svalbard4XPlane within the next few weeks.

Svalbard4XPlane is coming soon!

I’m proud to present to you my newest creation: Svalbard4XPlane – A Custom Base Mesh Scenery for X-Plane. The mesh will represent the Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean with a very detailed terrain model and in a photorealistic look, even it is not a orthophoto-mesh.

My Svalbard Base Mesh will be bundled together with Overlay Sceneries from Stairport Sceneries, my partner for my first payware product. Detailed information will follow within the next few weeks!

News about Antarctica4XPlane

It’s been awhile, since my last news about Antarctica4XPlane, my Antarctica Base Mesh for the X-Plane Flight Simulator. It’s winter on the southernmost continent and due to the darkness and rough weather conditions at this time of the year, almost all antarctic researchers went home for a break. But why not use the opportunities of a flight simulator to train your skills for the upcoming season. Walter did it and created this great video:

Walter, thank you so much for your continuous support of my projects, especially Antarctica4XPlane. I really hope, that I can continue the development of Part 3 as soon as possible. The timeline depends particular on the release date of new elevation models for the antarctic continent.

Kenn Borek Air Livery

You love to fly the DHC-6 from Aero Pedro? Then I suggest to you the Kenn Borek Air Livery by Walter. Even when the original aircraft with the identification C-GKBH is a shortnose version of the DHC-6, Walter’s livery works also very well with all other versions of Pedro’s DHC-6.

Kenn Borek Air is an airline based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It operates regional passenger and cargo services, contract operations in the Arctic and Antarctic and aircraft leasing. Its main base is at Calgary International Airport. It charters aircraft for scientific expeditions, oil exploration, etc., and operates air ambulance services. [From Wikipedia]
