We’re excited to announce the update of Seychelles4XPlane to version 1.2! Following the initial compatibility patch during the early days of X-Plane 12, this brand-new update arrives at a time when X-Plane 12 has significantly matured! Version 1.2 brings expanded compatibility with X-Plane 12, new content, and a range of improvements and fixes across the entire Seychelles archipelago.
Let’s first take a look at Seychelles International Airport (FSIA) on Mahé and Praslin Island Airport (FSPP). Whether you’re arriving on a long-haul flight or preparing for an inter-island hop, these two airports serve as your primary gateways to the Seychelles. Both have received a number of improvements, additions, and fixes that offer you a more immersive and refined experience.
Among the changes are an updated SAM implementation at FSIA, now fully compatible with openSAM (including custom animations); new “material maps” that enable X-Plane 12’s wet weather effects; and refinements to lighting and reflections. Two features that apply to all airports included, bringing the entire island group in line with X-Plane 12’s enhanced rendering engine.

Another significant and likely the most noticeable improvement is the updated land-classification, benefiting both Terrain and Overlay scenery. This creates a more natural, immersive environment where beaches, forests, urban areas, etc. are better represented and seamlessly integrated. Additionally, atolls and reefs are now – more or less – accurately placed in their real locations.

And that’s not all: You can look forward to three new airstrips: Poivre, Providence (see the last two pics in the above image gallery), and Cosmoledo. This expands your island-hopping options to nearly two dozen landing sites – not including the countless unofficial spots! And of course, all included heliports in the scenery pack have also received aforementioned enhancements:
