A4XP: Work on Elevation Models

I’m working on a mesh update of Antarctica4XPlane Part 2. For this I begun to merge some high resolution elevation models into the current low resolution model. With success, as you can see below: Shown is a digital elevation model of Ross Island [the current DEM on the left and the upcoming on the right],…

Signy Research Station

Besides the development of the Antarctica Terrain Mesh for X-Plane, I begun to create first 3d-models and released my first Research Base Scenery: The Signy Research Station, located on Signy Island, a small subantarctic island on the South Orkney Islands, operated by the British Antarctic Survey.

Get Antarctica4XPlane Part 2!

The second part of my Antarctica Base Mesh for X-Plane is now available! The Terrain Mesh covers the Victoria Land and the northern parts of the Transantarctic Mountains. In addition to the Mesh Scenery, I’m proud to announce, that Paolo will shortly release a bunch of Research Base Station Sceneries.  You’ll find the download links for my Base…

Antarctica4XPlane: Part 2 is coming!

One year after the start of the project and four months after the Release of Part 1, I’m proud to announce that Part 2 of my Antarctica Terrain Mesh Scenery for X-Plane is almost ready to release. Part 2 of Antarctica4XPlane covers the Victoria Land and the northern parts of the Transantarctic Mountains including McMurdo Dry…

AX4P: 1.000 downloads reached!

I’m proud to announce that Part 1 of Antarctica4XPlane has reached 1.000 downloads – a big thank you to all supporters! I’m really interested in – who of those, who downloaded the Antarctica Base Mesh Scenery – regularly fly over X-Plane’s lost continent. It would be helpful if you give me some feedback: Let me know…

Rising of X-Plane’s lost continent

Based on my Antarctica Terrain Mesh Scenery, Walter a.k.a. WalSch created an impressive video: Lean back and enjoy the stunning impressions. Walter, thank you very much for your contribution. We’re looking forward to see more from you!

Best Scenery of January 2016!

We did it: The Antarctica Terrain Mesh Scenery Antarctica4XPlane wins the X-Plane.org award Best Scenery of January 2016. It was a really tough and exciting competition: Congratulation to all competitors! On this occasion I would like to thank all contributors, and the users that gave us overwhelming feedback. Finally a special thank you to all of you…

Planet Map Replacement

Because the X-Plane Default Planet Map doesn’t cover –besides other regions – the Antarctic Continent, I created a Planet Map Replacement for X-Plane. It is derived from The Blue Marble Next Generation (BMNG) published by the NASA Earth Observatory, and you can choose either a June or a December version.

First Part of Antarctica4XPlane

I’m proud to announce that Part 1 of my Antarctica Terrain Mesh Scenery Antarctica4XPlane is now available! This first part covers the South Orkney Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. Note: The Research Base Station Sceneries by my development partner Paolo will be available soon. Update: First Research Base Station Sceneries by Paolo are now available!
