Great news: We’ve just published an update for Faroe Islands XP to make one of our most popular scenery packs for X-Plane ready for XP12.1+. Version 2.3 of Faroe Islands XP is an XP12-exclusive update, and essentially another compatibility-patch for XP12. It, however, also offers a few new features: Among other things, we’ve updated the terrain model, and addressed especially issues at the coastlines, where with previous versions strange rendering artifacts in XP12 were present. These issues are now solved, and Faroe Islands XP looks now better than ever before:

Also worth mentioning that we’ve addressed some other issues, such as “flickering” of a few objects and buildings i.a due to “broken” LOD layers, animations that no longer worked, and “broken” harbor facades. We’ve also adjusted the materials of all art assets of the scenery pack for XP12, especially with regard to their “specularity” values. Finally, there were made minor corrections and adaptions to the airport and the helipads, especially with regard to the approach lighting.
Full changelog: updated, more detailed elevation model; fixed bathymetry / coastlines for XP12; reworked coasts and shores, .bch added; corrected and updated some harbor .fac; updated specularity of assets for XP12; fixed some LOD layers, solved flickers; fixed few animations, i.a. lighthouses; EKVG: customized airport lighting aids; checked FATO area lighting of helipads; some minor adjustments on the helipads; minor fixes and adjustments on apt.dat
