SocietyIslands4XPlane Sightseeing

Finally some time to explore Society Islands XP myself! For those who don’t know our latest scenery for X-Plane yet, it consists of two parts: Bora Bora & Leeward Islands XP followed by Tahiti & Windward Islands XP at the beginning of this year. As usual for our scenery packs, both include a custom terrain mesh plus custom overlays/autogen, and not only several airports and airfields, but also numerous heliports and helipads. I decided for this tour to visit the latter and chose, of course, a Eurocopter EC135 in Tahiti Nui Helicopters livery. (I decided on the VIP model by rotorsim.de)

My sightseeing flight took me from Bora Bora Airport over the helipads of the resorts on Bora Bora, and, with a stopover at the Tahiti Nui Helicopters‘ base on Bora Bora/Pago dropzone, back to Bora Bora Airport. From here I went to the neighboring island of Raʻiātea, where I completed my tour over Bora Bora & Leeward Islands XP with a hop from Raiatea Airport to Tahaʻa and back. What a tour, and there would have been even more to explore, including three more airfields! More on that another time, for now I refer to the notes on the initial release and the first update.

The above pictures were taken over Bora Bora & Leeward Islands XP. Before this visit, I also toured a few weeks ago over Tahiti & Windward Islands XP. As you may know, Tahiti Nui Helicopters offers not only inter-island transfers and scenic flights, but also aerial work, such as load transport, firefighting, and air medical transport. Just one reason why we have implemented besides the airports and airfields also the three hospitals inducing their helipads on Tahiti and Moʻorea. If you feel like exploring the two separately available scenery packs for X-Plane yourself, you can get them directly from our publisher Aerosoft: Bora Bora & Leeward Islands XP and Tahiti & Windward Islands XP. Alternatively, if you prefer, also via Steam and other partner shops such as the Org Store. BTW: Both products are available for X-Plane 12 and still also X-Plane 11: No matter which purchase option, XP11 or XP12, you choose, you receive both versions – at no additional cost.
